Omar Faruk Osman Accused of Extreme Fraud and Corruption Practices in Somalia
Trade Unions in Somalia accuse former Secretary General of the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) union, Omar Faruk Osman who also claims the head of Federation of Somalia Trade Unions (FESTU) of extreme fraud and corruption practices by obtaining huge grants from international donors including ILO and Italian government.
According to a joint statement by Somali Trade Unions including Somali Congress of Trade Unions (SOCOTU), Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ), Somali Teachers Union, doctors and Lawyers Associations financial assistance for promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labor rights, through a decent work agenda has ended to the pockets of individuals who exploit in the name of Somali workers with some officials from the Ministry of Labor of the Federal Government of Somalia .
In a joint press statement of the Somali Trade Unions seen by Somalitopnews.com said, Omar Faruk Osman, a known fraudulent trade unionist in Somalia who is getting breastfeeding from Somalia’s Minister of Labor Sadik Warfaa, received funds from several governments and INGOs including Italy through ILO which trade unions believe is being exploited and corrupted in a different way too far from the donors’ aims.
Omar Faruk Osman is currently involved in illegal human trafficking with a large number of young Somali people migrants to Europe.
There is a link between a few ministries from the Federal Government of Somalia which have ties with Omar Faruk on transporting people to Europe by facilitating invitations and making them they attend international trade unions and media conferences.
Representatives from Somali Trade Unions who jointly signed the press statement alleged Mr. Omar Faruk Osman for pilfering and hijacking the password of the Somali Journalists Union (NUSOJ), the same thing he did with East Africa Journalist Association in the past. He has a criminal record in Kenya and Ethiopia was also separately detained in Nairobi and Addis Ababa with issues relating to money laundering and fraud, see below links and articles.

Omar Faruk Osman, is believed to have close connections with some senior officials in ILO and IFJ who blindly have been supporting him since the past two decades despite he was officially sacked after he rejected to step down due the two terms, he authorized the constitution.
Omar Faruk is said so clever for betraying and misleading the International Human Rights organizations and trade unions for showing that he is a victim of the government and stand for the defending Press Freedom and media.
The UN issued a risk report on Omar Faruk, which details his fraudulent, illegal actions and unsuitable character for any leadership office, see attached PDF. Furthermore, there have been many instances of his indictment and arrest in Ethiopia and in Kenya.
